Jen, I need your new e-mail! Since I do not have it here is the answer to your question. I am learning and consider myself a novice, that being said....I have just started shooting after 2 years mostly on the aperature or A setting. R and I just got a new lens that allows the aperature to open much wider than the standard lens' that come with the Nikon. That lens has helped me a lot with lighting. I also crop and edit most pictures on Photoshop, but picasa, picnik, and photobucket have easy to use editing. I have just started to play with my settings....I put a mug or something on my counter and shoot it all different ways to learn my settings. The good thing about photography is the only person that has to like your pictures is you:)
It's customary in the Navy to wish someone "fair winds and following seas" when they embark on a journey. Our 20+ year Navy journey has come to a fabulous end and we are living out our retirement years in paradise. Aloha
