Emily's new soccer team got their uniforms and they are PINK!! Hip Hip Hooray! This was a very good day for 5 yr. old soccer (oh, and she scored two breakaway goals...but who really cares).The big bad news is that Olivia's team also got their uniforms and guess what color they are...PINK. While this is thrilling news for the 5 yr. old set, I thought the 11-12 yr. old set just might pass out from disgust. Apparently pink is a color to be reserved for little sisters and any other application is utterly useless. So, I don't have a photo of her in uniform yet because she won't put it on until the last moment of game day which I believe is next weekend for her.
As for other news, we are slowly getting back into our routine without holidays, birthdays, presents, grandparents and days off. We are in a deep freeze here like the rest of the country...it was only 59* when we woke up yesterday (of course it warmed to a lovely 79* with light breezes soon after) but my kids were "freezing" none the less.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Hughes for our delicious New Years dinner by the way (in the chaos of the ER visit the next day I forgot to mention). We ate Oklahoma ribs and brisket until we couldn't breathe but it was GOOOOOOD!
